New Rake Rests – Local Rule
Please note the following new local rule applies: -
‘All Rake Rests on the course are treated as immovable obstructions from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1 Relief is not allowed to be taken under rule 15.2
Penalty for breach of this rule: General Penalty’
I.e. free relief can be taken if the rake rest interferes with your stance or swing, but not if the intended flight of the ball may be affected.
The rake rest must not be removed.
The penalty being loss of hole in match play or two penalty strokes in stroke play.
