The TAMS played their annual Championship over two days – Thursday 9th & Tuesday 14th August 2018
The competition is played as a Qualifier on both days Strokeplay from the Yellow Marker posts
The first round saw an exception Net 61 by Iain Scottt giving him an early advantage with David Boast on net 65, closely followed by Alan Finach & Peter Webber both on net 66
However it is always difficult in this format to keep the consistancy over the two days and many of the first round leaders faltered
The early second round pace was set by Andrew Burl with a further exceptional net 61 but his first round score was never enough to trouble the eventual leader-board
It was Malcolm Lamond who set the first serious challenge with a second round net 65 to follow his first round 71 and to elevate him into the eventual third place with a total net 136
Paul Ansell proved the most consistant over the two days and a second round net 67 to add to his first round 68 saw him into second place with a total net 135
However despite a nervous second round score of net 73 the overnight leader Iain Scott was able to just hang on to first place after his first round net 61 to win by just one shot with a total net score of 134
Well done to the winners, to all of the 60 plus TAMS who took part over the two days and thanks to Keith Ribbans for recording all the scores and handicap amendments
